St John Ghana
St John Ambulance Ghana (SJAG) is a national organisation dedicated to improving health, safety and well-being across communities in Ghana through first aid training, emergency medical services and community health programmes. We are part of the St John international family of organisations, which operates in countries and territories around the world.
In Ghana, we work with government institutions, schools, workplaces and communities to deliver services that equip people with essential lifesaving skills, strengthen emergency response and improve access to vital health support, helping to build safer and more resilient communities.
Our origins date back to 1937, when St John Ambulance began organised emergency medical services in what was then the Gold Coast. Following Ghana’s independence, the organisation became an agency under the Ministry of Health, with its legal status formalised through the St John Ambulance Act, 1959 (Act 57). From these beginnings, SJAG has grown into a national organisation delivering first aid training, ambulance and emergency medical services, event medical cover, community health programmes and youth and volunteer initiatives across Ghana.

To become the leading frontline provider of First Aid training and services in Ghana.
Misssion
To reduce suffering and save lives by providing First Aid and Safety training at workplaces, communities, training institutions and provide Ambulance services to the public.
